Welcome to all my new readers… seems as if there’s been a surge in my popularity lately… and I want you to know I appreciate each one of you! Either that or my regulars have been reading and re-reading this little agricultural blog! And if that’s it… you are My Heroes! Thanks!
I hope you enjoy the stories from the ranch, I take you along on every little journey… so if you’re a wannabe cowboy, or a former Wyoming resident, or just curious about the lifestyle… I’m glad you’re along for the ride!
Tonight, take off your Tony Lamas, grab your irrigating boots and let’s hike to the field!
Remember this entry?
I gave you the basics of roll line irrigating…
Well, the pump and pipeline were fixed… the first cutting of hay harvested… and I was needed to move pipe again.
This is only the second time over this field with irrigating water…
Look at the difference!
The alfalfa is knee high in spots…
The grass is recovering from its horrible yellow hue…
It is an amazing transformation when you compare those photos from three weeks ago!
You see why water is GOLD in this country!
On the way home, Daniel spied this along the highway fence…
A neighbor’s young bull had got himself into a predicament. By the time we grabbed fencing pliers and stretchers and hammer to cut him free… he worked himself loose and we only had to tack the fence back up into position. He wasn’t hurt, and hopefully he’ll have learned a valuable lesson!
You never know what you’ll be faced with out here!
I have lots to share with you in the next few days…
Flood irrigating… Yeah, I actually had to do some!
Thrashing our grain field… Do you know where oats and barley come from?
More cowboying… a perennial favorite blog entry…
and…
wait for it…
wait…
…
…
YES!
More wedding photos for those who’ve been anxiously awaiting them!
And don’t forget Boomer and Lucas and Elsa and Dally…
It could be my imagination…
but I think the Aussie has more grey hair than he had last week…
