Chances Are...
I braved the tiling again... this time mixing just one cup of water with the 2.3 cups of dry thin set. I'm writing that down, so that I don't forget the ratio!
I don't know why it's not written on the bag, but it isn't. The consistency of peanut butter... Thanks to internet research, I was able to find that descriptive term.
*That*, I understand.
So for you guys that write instructions on the thin set bags... please take notes.

It seemed to be the right amount. Much better than yesterday.
My tiles are 9" x 12".
I put up four.
They didn't slide while I was there.
Taped them up to the wall for support and called it good. If I go back and they've slid, I don't know what I'll do!
Tomorrow the plan is to go try for a few more!
We also glued the laminate flooring to the countertop...
Screwed in a couple of upper cabinets and put the countertop on the sink base.
It honestly looks good to me!
I know, it's not an exciting thing to photograph...
but I'll make it up to you with a sunset photo.
Chances are that's a red tail hawk perched there...

I'll fix these links when it lets me!

From the home improvement shows I have watched, if they are having trouble with tiles slipping they screw a 2x4 in level with the line they want to start the tiling. Then they can rest the tiles on the 2x4 and remove it when the thin set is dry. Hopefully you will not need this tip because your tiles will adhere without a problem. If all else fails use liquid nails but it probably will never come off.

Thin set and tiles would make a good photo for me! We're remodeling the two bathrooms in the house we live in. Spent yesterday removing the old bathtub (had to saw it in half) and beginning to install the new. Would you believe that the old one had dirt all around it, including up in the apron area, for support and insulation? So, when we removed it, it left piles of dirt in the bathroom. Had to take it out in buckets. That was a surprise! Today we're adapting the house's plumbing to attach to new drains. And, hopefully, install the tub. Then, thin set, here we come.

Beautiful photo - wish it were full screen on my computer! I am reading this on Sept. 11 ~~ let's hope our country is a vigilant and watchful as that hawk.

Got everything crossed for you. Beautiful sunset. So do the dogs leave all the birds alone now that there is not any pups around. Most likely not because Vaquera thinks she has to remove them from are yard.
