It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like...
I managed to have a dream job of mine today...

My Christmas Decorator license was used to its full extent!
The wreath that I've been creating a few ornaments for, was finished by five volunteers today. I did my wheat weaving, painted jingle bells, and fake birchbark ornaments. We also had boiled wool mittens, copper icicles, paper woven baskets with cinnamon sticks, beeswax dipped pinecones, felted animals and cool snowflake lights... plus juniper berries and red berries.

We even drew an audience for a bit... the library was HOPPING today!

Finished! Well, kinda.
This goes up for auction on December 3rd at the Festival of Trees... and we have an entire Jan Brett display to go along with this wreath...

I just LOVE this red polar bear... and I was VERY happy with my fake birch bark!

Then I decorated the tree. This year I went with gold only... and they just barely had enough ornaments to pull it off... I almost went with gold and green, but I don't think it turned out too bad...

The cards have Christmas quotations on them...

Then I arranged and decorated the display case... These belong to a local woman... carolers and sleighs...

I like the Victorian carolers...

Next I hung various swags around... Now I notice the ribbons are on unevenly... uh, KJ, could you fix that for me because it will drive me bananas knowing it's hanging like that! I was more focused on making sure it wouldn't get caught in the doors!

The Christmas Open House and Silent Auction is next Monday evening. My donation to this is the wreath on the right... and I forgot to get a closeup of it... It's made from two paperback books... recycling some used old books! It was fun to make!
Well, I had to quit... I spent almost a full day there!
It was fun, though... and it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
P.S. I didn't get my calendars again...

Wow! How gorgeous! Looks like you had a really creative day. I am moving in about 2 weeks and missing my Christmas decorating as I won't be in the new place until probably Christmas day....I'll just enjoy yours!

Beautiful !!! I's beginning to feel and smell a lot like christmas here too. The strawberries are all ripe and the plums have just started.

I love that you are supporting the library. I'm a Library Technical Assistant student and libraries are wonderful!

Beautiful!!!!! I love it all but especially the recycled book wreath! Would love it if you would share the instructions. I would love to make one for my room at the library. My dept. withdraws all the old books so I would have an unending supply to work with.

Oh, I gotta have the instructions on how to make the wreath out of a book. I've got them coming out my ears, and so do most of my writer friends.

Please do share the paperbook wreath how-to! I used to work in a bookstore and I MISS the books, and I have so many that I enjoyed once (or twice or thrice) but will not reread any more...a wreath would be a nice way to remember them. I have several friends in my book group (librarians all) who would love this idea also.

Good work, Carol. You are certainly talented. It's great to see the library all spiffed up for Christmas.

LOVE LOVE LOVE! the wreath is just gorgeous! And so are all the decorations. My house, well it doesn't look like Christmas here, because well, we're going to Vegas, and there's no point in buying a live tree when no one will be here to water it. So I have to wait until we get back.
