Ice #2: The Movie
To continue our icy theme this week...
Here is the video from Christmas Day...
To start... the guys chop the ice out of the tank while cows wait for a drink in the background.
The last half of this video is more along the lines of my "Naturewalk" ideas... I take a panoramic shot of the Big Horn Basin while the guys are measuring the depth of the water in the underground storage tank.
Short and sweet... and icy!

It looks nearly as wintery there as it has been here

What would happen if you had so much snow that it really buried the access to this water storage tank?

Love seeing this video Carol. Working on a horse ranch I did similar chores except I had to take a wheelbarrow and heavy hose to each hydrant along with a rubber mallet and manure fork, walk back the hose at each hydrant and carry on. Although I did break my wrist when I brought the hoses to the warm room in the barn I honestly miss this, and can smell and hear the sounds of the ranch and the good feeling of an honest days work. You either did the waters or not, you either cleaned a stall or not. I cherish the time I spent there and I am sure my dogs miss being there as well.

Boy this brings back memories of breaking the ice in the tanks for my horses when we lived on the front range in Colorado! Thanks for sharing it!
