Vernon's Pet
Vernon wanted me to take his picture with his "pet".
I did.
Then I took a couple more.
Then I took a quick video clip.
I couldn't resist...

Too cute! I see a whole new career for Vernon in this situation. Cow whisperer extraordinaire--feed cows the ole fashion way---call them to the table with a shout--round 'em up with a whistle from the CW (Cow Whisperer). Cows may be a whole lot smarter than we think!--humans just don't know how to communicate with them (well, everyone but Vernon that is!---I am back in NY now and we have a brand new angus calf at the barn--I am lovin' it. Her momma is a short horn named Strawberry and so, of course, the baby is Blackberry. She loves being rubbed and comes over easily to be petted. Garry almost lost her since he wasn't home when she was born and it was pretty cold and wet. But, he got her in time and she is fine. And, I am wondering if the calving is done or does it go on for weeks. I don't remember how it goes.

Is she close to calving? Some of our wildest sheep practically crawl into my lap when they are getting near. Always a sign to me to keep a close eye!

Vernon and Carol-Sally sent me the video on the cow petting-I immediately thought of Ped who supposedly asratched his cows when he was done feeding.
