Scarecrow Contest
Saturday, the Ten Sleep Library held a scarecrow contest! My boss/friend KJ has been wanting to do this for years... and we finally got our act together... and the Friends of the TSL donated the prizes.

We had two categories... traditional and non-traditional... and paid out 3 places in each. A Wii and a Kindle topped the prize list!
We had 22 scarecrows!
We were thrilled!
It was a long day, but it was fun...
I thought I'd share some pics with ya!
Flower Girl: I liked this one...I liked how the arms and legs are "open" and that there is no face!

Friends of the Library: As President of the REAL "Friends" group... I *had* to like this one!

If I Only: This tinman/lion/scarecrow cross was VERY creative in my book! Two high school girls came up with this one! And the "If I only had a Kindle" just cracked me up!

Headless Horseman: Cool take on the old traditional.

Baled: Always good for a giggle.

Bone Head: Creepy.

My Best Friends: Made by someone who has TONS of baling twine around her place...

Yeah... someone who has too much time on her hands evidently... because she wasn't eligible for a prize as a library employee, but spent hours winding twine! Someone who also discovered sculpture is NOT her forte!

It was a great time to kick off our busy period at the library!
I've donated two photos again this year... come back tomorrow to see them and put in your bid!

I dunno -- that baling twine one takes my breath away with sheer inventiveness and persistence! Thanks for sharing, it's always fun to see such creativity.

I've been away for over a week and am now getting caught up on 'everything' ~
If you still are taking suggestions for your next calendar, Carol, I have a couple of favorite pictures: the field of lupine and mule ears; the field of shooting stars; any really colorful and dramatic shot of the chugwater formation with or without cattle; also liked the Wyoming Blue Jay on a branch in winter! And since I love horses, maybe a picture from your saddle of Panama's head and ears as you approach a lush green valley.
I do love your photos immensely! They are such a treat to my soul.

Wow, it is so nice to meet another Wyoming blogger. I love all of your beautiful photos! I live in Kaycee and we just love Ten Sleep. My boys will be there on Saturday to play football and they always come home from Ten Sleep telling how nice the kids are there.
