I’m not in Wyoming any more… Ok, that doesn’t quite have the same ring to it, but it’s true. I’m in Fort Collins, COLORADO! Megan and Tess decided to give me my Christmas/birthday presents early by bringing me down to all these people and all this traffic to pick out my custom cowboy hat!
I won that a loooonnnng time ago from Beef Magazine’s photo contest… And here I am FINALLY. Well, I go to Greeley tomorrow, tonight was just the journey across Wyoming with a couple of stops at Mountain Meadow Wool Shop in Buffalo, and a trip to Michael’s crafts.
Tonight we ate out at a recommended Italian place named Canino’s.
I had herb crusted chicken with pinon nuts. Oh, my!
We all thought our meal was absolutely delicious… And we had to follow it with creme brule! I must admit, I haven’t had such a delicious meal in a long time.
We headed back to the motel through Friday night traffic right past Colorado State University’s campus… We may have made a few missed turns. We may have thanked God for a couple of church parking lots to turn around in. We may have been laughing so hard that tears came to my eyes!
We made it, and tomorrow, I will see what Greeley Hat Works has to offer!
P.S.
Missing you, Toria!
Find me here!
Glad that you’re having good fun on a road trip and finally getting that custom hat, something a lot of us long for. It’s well-deserved that you won the Beef Magazine photo contest: good work.
Sounds terrific all around – what a nice getaway with your daughters-in-law.
Hope you were able to order that special cowboy hat! We want to see it being worn with pride!
How long will you be down here? We’d love to get together for dinner or something if it works out.
Nice offer, Rita, but as you can see, we flew! I didn’t get to see my sister-in-law or a couple of friends… but next time you’re up… let me know!
Will do!
A dream come true. I have always wanted a custom built hat. Your blessed, not just with the trip and hat, but with the great Love of your thoughtful family. The food sure looked yummy!!!!
Have a great time Carol. My daughter and I drove from Grand Teton NP to Ft Collins in 2009 to visit friends. A long day’s drive. We also missed the turning for our hotel and ended up turning around in front of the fire station !!!!!!!! Looking forward to a photo of you and your hat.
How fun! I’m sure we’ll get a picture of you in that hat!
This sounds like a wonderful trip!!! And I am envious, as a Colorado State grad, that you got to be there. I don’t suppose I would recognize the place today, but it would be fun to try. 🙂
It’s a Big Campus!!!! We drove by a bit of it… and sorry about the Border War this year! 😉
