In my part of Nebraska, the entire house was sod due to lack of timber. We used to play in the one at my uncle’s farm. The inside walls were white-washed, and it was as solid as a rock! Now it is preserved at a museum in Gering, Nebraska.
Good puzzle or calendar picture, I think! I am reading through the “Little House on the Prairie” books for fun! And there is lots to learn about living in a soddy – at one point a reckless bull was on top of the soddy and one of his legs poked thru!
Do you ever need to add more soil & seed?
Love this, wonderful. Thanks.
Look how tight those walls are.

What stories this bunkhouse must be holding. A photo that makes you stop and think of times gone by.
