Spent pretty much all day doing last minute preparations for the Ten Sleep Library’s Open House and Silent Auction.
We had wanted to make window silhouettes, and I had stayed up until midnight last night drawing and cutting out some Grinchy figures. That meant a lot of taping and climbing on ladders today. We had the usual goodies trays, wassail, coffee and fun… but the highlight of the night to me, was my windows…
They turned out great, if I do say so myself!!!!
A little self-portrait there… with my boss inside!!!
Thanks to all who attended and bid and enjoyed a fun night in Ten Sleep!
(if anyone is on Facebook, go like the Ten Sleep Library’s page and you can see our Facebook Live video I shot! You’ll enjoy it!)

I barely have any questions for the next Q&A… c’mon, folks, you know you have a question to ask! Post it here!
Find me here!
I have a couple questions on the windows that you did. I saw that you used a projector and traced the images. Did you just use black cardboard? or roll paper? and — how did you create the different colored backgrounds on each image? Tissue paper?
Sorry for all the questions — just trying to create something similar for a client.
Thanks in advance!

It was just black roll paper, like you use for bulletin boards. Yes, different colors of tissue paper, it was harder to find the lime green we wanted for the Grinch than we expected at the time! The lines are simple our shades casting shadows behind the tissue paper. Best of luck on your project. We’ve saved the black outlines from year to year but the tissue paper rips too easily.
Hello I live lovelv your sillouettes and chance you have a printable template for them?????
It was more of a “trace them off of a projector” style of crafting… I just got the book, and used the outline to create the silhouettes. I’m happy you like them!
I love them, you did an amazing job
I was wondering if there will be any more puppies / litter on the ranch? Have you given up on breeding ?
Those silhouettes are awesome! You have every right to be tickled by them!
I always enjoy your pictures and comments. We have only been ranching here for 103 years in southwest N.D. My question is How did the forage wheat turn out as hay and do you plan to plant it again in 2018 ?
I think your addition to the library windows deserves a ride in Santa’s sleigh! 🙂
Lots of detail work on the silhouettes but absolutely perfect touch for the windows. You will be saving them for years to come. Loved the video of the fun evening.
Staying up late was so worth it. GREAT job Carol.
Those silhouettes are fabulous! Hope the library’s big night was a big success!
Great job on the windows, Carol. I watched the live video you shot an thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of folks turned out and looked to be having a wonderful time. Wish I could have been there ……
