Wordless Wednesday – “Patience”
Patience is a virtue, especially while waiting for this spring to arrive…
Snowstorm Calf
8 inches… Which is better than many parts of Wyoming that did receive the predicted foot of snow. The 60 and 70 mph winds did hit the southern section of the state, and the usual windy spots had their snow blown into impressive drifts as well. Good thing our carpenter listened to the weather reports…
Huh, Guys?
Vernon and I both made the same comment yesterday… that we hoped it would just keep on snowing until we got a foot of snow… And the Snow Gods listened… It snowed all day yesterday, throughout the night, and most of today. Here’s Lucas wishing me “Good Driving” on the way to work this morning. …

Easily 4″ of snow this morning… and a slick highway… and a windshield wiper on the fritz. A wonderful start to the day! But, the remainder of the day was good… I simply decorated the library. This year, the tree is on our book table, so I climbed up and down on chairs and a ladder…
Proof of Snowfall
As Jaxon was being born… a cold front was moving into Wyoming. The prediction was for 2-4″ of snow, and much colder temperatures. Amazing how dropping barometric pressure can bring on labor! We started receiving very light snow a couple of hours before we decided to drive to Worland to see Jaxon. We didn’t think…
Snow Line
I found it. About 8 pm. Under some gloves. In the mud room. Duh. So, to make up for yesterday, and because I couldn’t take photos today… The Big Horn Mountains… getting snow on the mountain tops… but notice, no snow down lower. This is looking northeast… Now the Big Horns due east of us……
Snowstorm Toughness
There’s all sorts of news today… *The shed is entirely gone… destroyed in an hour or so and hauled away after a few more hours. Bare ground, a few poles, and some concrete chips are all that’s left. *The pivot is assembled and plumbed. Electricity still needs to be changed and then rewired. The roll…
Fickle Wyoming
Hard to believe, being the 19th of May and all… but the Highway between Ten Sleep and Buffalo is closed due to snowfall. Not just Powder River Pass, but the entire distance. Of course, I do recall Victoria and I coming over the hill in a snowstorm in May… 1-3 FEET, yes, FEET of snow…

Fair Weather Cowgirl
We’ve received 10″ of snow with this storm, more than we’ve had for quite a while! 4″-5″ were predicted, so when it dumped this on us, we were surprised! It is very light and fluffy… even my snowshoes yesterday didn’t make much of a difference! Since we were due to bring our cows in from…
Due To The Weather
Let’s just say it snowed a tad here last night and today. Enough that I took my snowshoes when I walked my dogs! My usual trail to the dam and beyond was more than I could stand, I barely made it to the dam! The dogs were exercised as well as I was. Elsa, being…
