I managed to have a dream job of mine today…
My Christmas Decorator license was used to its full extent!
The wreath that I’ve been creating a few ornaments for, was finished by five volunteers today. I did my wheat weaving, painted jingle bells, and fake birchbark ornaments. We also had boiled wool mittens, copper icicles, paper woven baskets with cinnamon sticks, beeswax dipped pinecones, felted animals and cool snowflake lights… plus juniper berries and red berries.
We even drew an audience for a bit… the library was HOPPING today!
Finished! Well, kinda.
This goes up for auction on December 3rd at the Festival of Trees… and we have an entire Jan Brett display to go along with this wreath…
I just LOVE this red polar bear… and I was VERY happy with my fake birch bark!
Then I decorated the tree. This year I went with gold only… and they just barely had enough ornaments to pull it off… I almost went with gold and green, but I don’t think it turned out too bad…
The cards have Christmas quotations on them…
Then I arranged and decorated the display case… These belong to a local woman… carolers and sleighs…
I like the Victorian carolers…
Next I hung various swags around… Now I notice the ribbons are on unevenly… uh, KJ, could you fix that for me because it will drive me bananas knowing it’s hanging like that! I was more focused on making sure it wouldn’t get caught in the doors!
The Christmas Open House and Silent Auction is next Monday evening. My donation to this is the wreath on the right… and I forgot to get a closeup of it… It’s made from two paperback books… recycling some used old books! It was fun to make!
Well, I had to quit… I spent almost a full day there!
It was fun, though… and it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
P.S. I didn’t get my calendars again…
