Joan: “What do you suppose made it tangle like that? Isn’t barbed wire usually tight enough for that not to happen?”
Twists in barbed wire are usually caused by wildlife jumping them and catching on the wires with their legs. The barbs then actually catch on each other and hold themselves in that twisted position. Sometimes it take some definite power to untwist and set the wires in their different places.
Doug: “When using the bale feeder, after the center row of bales are fed, how do you move the two outer rows of bales over to the center row position to be fed?” and Allison: “What does it weigh? What size bales are you feeding? ”
That’s what I get for not actually posting all I had filmed! I did video Brandon unhooking the tractor and coming around and repositioning the bales. It ended up on the cutting room floor. Sorry. Allison, I meant to ask Vernon and never did… I’m not sure we’ve ever weighed the thing, so I can’t give you an answer. Our bales are 4′ x 4′ x 8′.
Joan: “How do you have the energy to do all that you do? Do you “just” need little sleep?”
Heavens no! I need at least 7 hours of sleep or I have a headache all day! And I don’t know if it’s ENERGY per se, or I would be a great deal smaller in circumference!!! I just want to make and do… and so my floor hasn’t been mopped for a while… and I’m pretty sure these piles of stuff are getting deep… But if I kept up my house they way I was taught, I wouldn’t have time to “play”. So I let some things slide for a bit until I can’t stand it anymore, then I clean until I feel the urge to create! I’m very, very lucky that I don’t have to work a full time job, my children are grown, and my help around the ranch is needed less.
Joanne: “My question; as you have no light pollution, what are your favourite night views:- Milky Way, northern lights or ?????”
Favorite night views… I rarely get to see Northern Lights although I’d love to see them more… the Milky Way, the Hanging Road, the Spirit Road… yeah… love that! Long before I knew Corona Borealis, I recognized the ‘C’ in the sky. I claimed it for myself. Satellite spotting is a fun and pretty constant activity. Meteor showers can be quite a show! Telling the story of Cassiopeia and Cepheus, Andromeda and Cetus, Perseus and Pegasus, ‘arc to Arcturus’, ‘spinoff to Spica’, seeing Orion’s belt in crisp winter air… I’ve loved it all. Way back in the Before Time, I actually remember watching the Six Million Dollar Man, and someone asked Lee Majors what it was like being an astronaut in space and he said the closest thing to it was laying on a hillside in Wyoming and watching the stars. I’ll never make it to space, but I have a hillside in Wyoming.
Tom: “So that is how Trump arranges his hair?”
Oh, Tom! It hadn’t occurred to me that my rusty roving resembled anything of the sort! You sure cracked me up… and, there is a similarity…
Irmgard: “Oh my goodness. I needed the Internet’s help to find out about Rindercella and “don’t forget to slop your dripper”!! Don’t pull such stunts on innocent aliens, Carol! Or rather, please, by all means, do! Until today, all I knew was that slop can be fed to pigs, and dripper reminded me of liquid medicine for eyes… ”
OK, you are the ONLY ONE who made a comment about Rindercella and Slopping your Dripper!!! You win! I don’t know what you win, but you win! These random things stick in my head, and this little skit from Hee Haw, yes, Hee Haw did (again in the Before Time – which in itself is most likely a Star Trek reference, can’t help it, I have a ton of them!) Any way… if I could memorize this, I would… for Big Kicks take the time to listen to Rindercella.
Find me here!
LOL. That video was so funny, thanks, for the reminder of
“Hee Haw”. We used to watch them on TV every week and laugh, and we enjoyed the country music too. These days we often say, like Grampa Jones, did: “pain, dispair and agony on me….if I had no bad luck, I’d have no luck at all”! (or something like that) Hee Hee! Good ole memories.
P.S. This is not the appropriate place for this comment (I’m not on fb, twitter or persicope), but I do want to send good thoughts for those remaining chicks – hope you are successful in your efforts to save them. I’m so sorry that you had such a sad and shocking experience. Keeping my fingers crossed!
I haven’t quite dried my tears yet (from laughing so hard) but yay & thank you, I’m elated that I won, even if for sheer ignorance! *I* know what I won: a direct link to an absolutely hilarious skit. I love it – although I’ll have to watch it a few dozen more times to understand every word. Big Kicks indeed! (Bonus: Now I know what I’d have to do to make a prandsome hince lall in fove.;-)) Since I’m from a coreign fountry I’m wondering about the accent – Texas or thereabouts? Thanks again for the good fun!
(Now, to close another big gap in my education, I guess I should start getting interested in Star Trek…)
