Not a surprising post from a part time librarian maybe.
READ.
We help people do it all the time!
But those letters on the bottom of our New Books display?
I did that!
I bought some small book letters on my Texas trip, and with my scroll saw from Christmas, I was set to make my own. These are full size… a little more difficult to keep straight edges, but they turned out fairly well!
For those of you now beside yourselves because I cut up a book… seriously. They are old, not being read, and taking up space in our tiny library. They would have ended up in the landfill. I figure I’m doing everyone a favor!
I will make more… they’re very popular!
Find me here!
Very cool! They are so eye-catching…and another one of your clever creations.
So much better than ending up in landfill. They look great.
Perfect idea
I just knew, right away, that *you* made those neato letters! I can’t imagine a more dignified purpose for old, well-loved books.
Awesome! You should take some of the other old books you have and offer a how-to class at the library.
We’ve talked about doing adult crafts at the library….
There’s a little part of me that wonders if I could cut up a book, but then again, I’ve pulled out pages to draw on, so why not? I want to do this!
You and your tools do amazing things…a girl after my own heart.
