Snow

Posted on April 12, 2022April 12, 2022

Well, we usually get an Easter storm… and I hope that this one counts as such.

I awoke to this… and quickly decided that the guys might need someone to help haul baby calves to the warmth of the calving shed. I swiped off the 5 or so inches of snow on my Durango… lay flat the seats and covered the back with a heavy blanket. Even though I decided to take Bravo along, I grabbed a leash if I needed to restrain him.

I found Vernon who said his calves were all doing well… considering.

I went in search of Brandon. It was rather a whiteout and I crawled from one delineator post along the highway to another. My windshield wiper on the passenger side quit working. WELL NOW. At least my driver’s side was still working. As I passed our centennial sign, and left the delineators behind… I REALLY struggled to see the road!

FOUND HIM. And, yes, he is driving towards me.

He didn’t have any calves for me either. Well, that was great news!

I did smile when I saw Jekyll on the back of the four wheeler… he may have regretted choosing to ride along with Brandon.

It was 17 degrees this evening… and I’m hoping the clouds stick around and hold what little warmth is left…

Glad all the calves were doing well. Hope you don’t get any frozen ears from this storm.

“Jekyll and Hyde” weather! Those are some pictures compared to yesterday’s from the spring garden.
