Thanks to my sister and her garden, as of this evening, I now have another 8 pints of salsa in my pantry. We go through a great deal of salsa around here, so I’m very grateful to have her excess tomatoes and peppers. My garden has been nothing to brag about by a long shot….

Video Time
Finally! Another video! It’s about time! This one covers May 30 – June 20, 2021. There’s plenty of gathering cattle, a cute irrigation partner, and some elk on the Big Horns. I even included a blooper reel, when my contacts were so foggy riding, that I had to have Megan help me clean and reapply…
Wordless Wednesday: “Well, Hello”

Isham
Somehow it’s really easy to forget what day it is… or at least the idea that on Saturdays I hope to make videos… and realize too late at night to do that especially since we are saddling horses at 5 am tomorrow. In fact, I’m declaring it too late to do much blogging of any…
Amazing
I met with some people about a possible logging operation on the mountain today. Vernon was busy repairing the baler and getting haying back in production, so he sent me. I didn’t have much to say, but I always enjoy seeing new country. After the meeting, my sister and I went to our little timber…
Candid
With some of my recent craft sales, I splurged and bought a trail camera. I’ve wanted one for years. Obviously, I’ve set it too high on one gatepost, looking across the open gate. It still captured some interesting shots… deer, birds, fantastic play of clouds and light, one antelope, and a coyote?
Reno’s Curve
Last time I saw wildlife on this big curve in the highway, it was three mountain lion kittens. This time it was three bull elk. For not the first time, I marvel at my commute home from the library… when I posted this same photo on Instagram, one of the hashtags I could have used…
Snow Critters
Nothing like spying the warm brown shade of elk by the side of the highway as I drove home from work. Even in the middle of this spring snowstorm, the color is eye-catching.
Queen of the Hay Bale
I think I could start a photo folder entitled, “Things I See On My Way Home from Work”. When I spotted this, I *had* to flip a “U-ie”. Uey? U-E? YOOEEEEEEE? So I turned around, hoping she hadn’t moved. Nope. Not concerned. She stayed there for quite a while, actually! I think the deer are…
Lions’ Tales – the Video
The past month I’ve posted a teaser or two about the mountain lions that hung around for a few days. Tonight, the video arrives! Yes, it’s a LONG video, but each day I saw them, I noticed new things. First. This has been a bucket list item for me. I’ve seen the tail of one…
Elusive
When I posted this photo a while back, I was thrilled with it, and I still am. I’ve always wanted to see a mountain lion in the “wild” and boy! I’ve checked that bucket list item off multiple times as of late! We know they’re around… we see the evidence of them and we live…
Bigger Lens
Did I ever tell you about the time I wished I had a bigger lens on my camera? Yes. Two. Actually, three. But that was in the video… Don’t you think I need a bigger lens?
