Memories of Snow…

Posted on July 13, 2009December 31, 2014
When I took this photo the other day…

I yearned for those snowcapped Big Horns to share a little chilly breeze with me…
I’ve been painting in the heat…
Moving cattle in the heat…
Mowing weeds in the heat…
Sorting piles of junk necessary metal pipes/bars/angle iron/flat iron/etc/etc in the heat…
Wasn’t it just a few days ago I was whining because of cold wet weather?
Wasn’t it not long ago I was freezing my butt self moving cattle in blizzards?
OK, maybe not blizzards…
Some people are never satisfied!
But it IS nice to go back and remember how cold I was…
It makes the heat that much more bearable!
Lucas, however, would prefer winter all the time!

Carol, Wyoming rancher

Since 2008, I’ve kept this photographic journal of life on our working Wyoming ranch.  I share ranch work, my family, crafts and DIY, my English Shepherds, Bravo and Indy, and a love for this land.  Enjoy this red dirt country!
