Different Background Colors

Posted on October 22, 2010January 13, 2015

I have a full house tonight!

There were eight of us for dinner…
It is so nice to have my family together!
The funny thing is… with all of us here… there were also seven dogs!
If Johnny had brought Sam over… there would have been eight.
I think each one found the same stinky gut pile to roll in as well.
Phew.
All dogs but one were banished to the outdoors!
We tolerated her smell, because she was the visitor, and we didn’t want the other dogs to gang up on her.
Plans were made for part of us to go deer hunting in the morning…
The rest of us?  Farming and, perhaps, moving some items up to the Mills Place.
Tomorrow is forecast to be our last nice day for a bit…
We just might have to do some winterizing!
I meant to get a photo of Vernon mechanic-ing (!) on a tractor today.
It was pulled in half and laid out in pieces… it amazes me that he can put it all back together!
But he did…
And then he went back to work.
Fall plowing is simply a jump on spring… with different background colors.

Carol, Wyoming rancher

Since 2008, I’ve kept this photographic journal of life on our working Wyoming ranch.  I share ranch work, my family, crafts and DIY, my English Shepherds, Bravo and Indy, and a love for this land.  Enjoy this red dirt country!
