#TBT: Keep on Haying

Posted on August 17, 2018

As long as you can grow it, dry it, and bale or stack it… keep on!

We are… just differently than they did back when.

No dates.

For those of you interested in how this worked, I’ve included a link to a YouTube video similar to what these family photos are of.

Thank you for that haying video demonstration, Carol. It was so neat for me to see that being done. My Mom, who grew up on a farm, used to talk about “haying” and I loved getting to see the demonstration here of the old way that it was done in her time in the early part of last century! <3

Thanks for this post and video. My father worked hay with horses on a ranch near Parkman, Wyoming in the late 1930’s.

I thought people might envision things better with a video!

Hard work is still hard work. Even though we now have better equipment. Go rancher, go. We need you more than ever.

Equipment is amazing these days… what will the future hold?

I could watch videos of “old time” field work all day!

Yes, YouTube can be addictive if you search for things like that!
