Vernon decided last minute to gather a little bunch of cows we have in our Horse Pasture, vaccinate the calves, then trail them tomorrow morning to the Mesa Pasture.
After a big storm has blown through this afternoon, the evening turned rather pleasant, except for the mosquitoes. My sweatshirt was too warm for the temperature, but perfect to keep those little buggers off of me!
Luckily, it just barely sprinkled on all the hay we have down…
The evening light made for RED dirt…
and cool clouds to highlight the wayward bull I had to trail in.
We’re vaccinating calves at 5:30 am… so I am off to bed!

Sure do love those dramatic clouds over the neatly planted hay field. I never tire of your pictures. And Eden in the red dirt – she looks like she is waiting for a command or just resting from a job well-done.
One day, I will come there to help do some cattle work. Miss it. I can even bring a dog, though you probably have enough.
Beautiful red dirt photo. However, I sure don’t miss the mosquitos at all.
today, my favorite photo is the hay field, I would really like to bale hay on level ground like that, as a kid I spent many hours stacking small square bales on the hay rack behind the baler, usually on rolling & hilly fields, hard to keep the bales, & me, from sliding around!
