Not So Calm Before the Storm

Posted on October 8, 2019October 8, 2019

The cows have been gathered (in the snow), and brought down to the Mesa pasture. Our other, smaller bunch is midway between the top and the Mesa. Today we weaned their calves off of them, and tomorrow we had planned to preg test them.

There’s a large area of Wyoming covered by a winter storm warning, with 4”-8” of snow predicted here for tomorrow. Thanks to the nice Good Doctor who adjusted his plans and fit us in today instead of tomorrow, we got that done as well!

It seems like everyone around here was trying to hustle and get their work done, cows moved, and winter preparations started.

I imagine it will look a lot different up here tomorrow.

I’ve managed to grab a few awesome shots… so I’ll keep sharing through my library work days and this first storm of the season!

Keep safe and warm. High 50’s/ low 60’s for middle England for next few days. With of course showers along the way.
