While the fire died down last night, today it took off once again. It’s now listed at 4.000 acres. A Type 3 Firefighting Unit will be heading in, most likely releasing our “local boys”. We have an excellent bunch of volunteer firemen, but many are ranchers and there’s things to do! Many of them were still at the Washakie County Fair with their families when they got called out.

We’ve done this before… in almost the exact same spot.
Our neighbors are bearing the brunt.

If you zoom in and look to the right of the big juniper, you can see the fire line from 2012, where the grass meets the sagebrush. It’s nerve wracking to sit and watch. To know your neighbor is losing grass and grazing and fence lines and pipelines and water tanks, because you’ve been there and done that.
A prayer for the safety of the firefighters, volunteers and pros, for the ranchers, for more rain and less wind, and for a quick end to the Vees Fire, would be welcomed.

Praying for y’all!
