Year of the Raspberries

Posted on July 29, 2025July 29, 2025

I’ve made smoothies.

I’ve made milkshakes.

I’ve made two cheesecakes.

I’ve frozen them.

I’ve given some away.

I’ve had people come pick.

I’ve made fresh raspberry salsa.

Today I made raspberry jam.

Tomorrow I have plans to can raspberry salsa.

And then I’m just going to keep freezing them unless I try fruit leather in my dehydrator.

It’s definitely the year of the raspberry.

(Thank you, J.L., for giving me these plants so many years ago!)

P.S. The fire has been quiet even with the big wind gusts we’ve been getting. Thunderstorms have rolled through the country… and are predicted for the days to come. We’ll take the rain, but don’t want the lightning, please!

Growing up in Powell, we had a huge raspberry patch that flourished without any special care. My Mom like you made jam, canned them, froze them and shared with family and friends. Sweet memories!

“…while visions of raspberries danced through your head…!!”
Lucky you to enjoy such a large harvest.
