Driving home the other day, a rainstorm was blowing in… scattered showers and lightning… and I saw this.

I was instantly worried another fire had started… but as I watched, I noticed the “smoke” wasn’t rising. It wasn’t smoke, it was a big ash cloud from the previous fire two weeks ago. The wind had lifted it up and carried it miles from the source. It definitely was spooky and creepy looking.
Some other fires were started that night, but the accompanying rain put them out. The Red Canyon Fire by Thermopolis was downgraded to 124,709 acres and is at 75% containment. Our sky is no longer very smoky from it, but there’s a new fire by Dubois burning in heavy timber and I think our smoke is now coming from the Dollar Lake Fire, listed as over 8,000 acres.
After hitting almost 100 degrees, the past two days have been cooler with scattered showers. All helping the fire and firemen. We didn’t get any rain here but we did get a nice present anyway…

Oh, WOW!! A full rainbow! Rain helps with fires, a lot. Glad you got some.
Good news that WY is getting some rain! But the ash cloud is definitely
spooky and creepy…almost like scary Dust Bowl days. Be safe.
