When I caught up to the guys again, Vernon had just received a satellite text from Brandon. (It absolutely blows my mind that when out of cell phone range – which can happen often around here – a satellite text can make it through!). Unfortunately, the big tire water tank they had set yesterday, was leaking. That’s bad news. The tires are huge, not easy to handle, and now the center was filled with concrete.
But Daniel was on his phone, doing research. Come to find out, some supplies left behind by the well drillers included barite, used as industrial mud… for plugging leaks in wells. Huh.

With the heavy fog and time of day, my camera wouldn’t focus.

They couldn’tq find where it was leaking… but we would trust the process and just sprinkle the barite in, supposedly, it would find the leak and plug it on its own.

They spread a sackful… and it was dark! Time to head for home and see if time will be our friend.
