Good Conference

Posted on September 27, 2025September 27, 2025

I’ve spent the past few days at the Wyoming Library Association conference in Casper.
We were lucky enough to listen to Shamichael Hallman, author of “Meet Me at the Library”.

Then there was Mychal Threets, who teams up with PBS and promotes libraries with viral TikTok videos…

I didn’t get a pic with Rebecca Hass, author of “101 Seeds for Library Joy”, but her speech was very enjoyable with some great ideas to use in the library.

Then I had a great visit with Casey Rislov and Zak Pullen, author and illustrator of “A Home for Steamboat”, the new great book about Wyoming’s infamous bucking horse that is used as our state logo. Even though I talked with them for almost an hour, again… no photo… but hey, I have a great substitute!

We won’t forget the comments our trivia team tshirts caused… and before you say “whaaaa?”… if you’re a librarian, you’ll know the book entitled The Bad-Ass Librarians of Timbuktu. We aren’t near as brave, but we figured we could be the Bad-Ass Librarians of Ten Sleep. So we are, every month at Keg Rider Trivia Night at the Ten Sleep Brewery. We just shared these shirts with our library pals. And, hey, you should read the book!

A good conference with good friends…

Carol, Wyoming rancher

Since 2008, I’ve kept this photographic journal of life on our working Wyoming ranch.  I share ranch work, my family, crafts and DIY, my English Shepherds, Bravo and Indy, and a love for this land.  Enjoy this red dirt country!
