Trooper

Posted on July 1, 2026July 1, 2026

So Victoria brought her finds in with her brother’s help.

We made it down to the others…

The wind kept howling… and it wasn’t pleasant. Reagan and I took position on the highway to flag vehicles to slow down. The wind had a coolness to it and even sitting in the sxs wasn’t pleasant.

The Wyoming wind has been absolutely brutal on my Independence Day decorations… and the cows refused to walk by those red, white, and blue flapping things. I hacked them down.

Reagan and I hung in there the entire day until they were done paring around 6 pm. Except for our lunch break, we were in my sxs for 12 hours! That’s quite a stretch for a kid, and me, but Reagan has always been a trooper. And we only had to pull out those classic games at the end!

Carol, Wyoming rancher

Since 2008, I’ve kept this photographic journal of life on our working Wyoming ranch.  I share ranch work, my family, crafts and DIY, my English Shepherds, Bravo and Indy, and a love for this land.  Enjoy this red dirt country!
