Left my camera out in my sxs… rats! If I can’t talk ranch stuff, I’ll just have to talk library stuff.
Along with our recognition as National Medal winners, the Ten Sleep Library received $10,000. We discussed and debated and questioned and agonized over what we could use it for… our infamous “second floor” won’t get built for that!, so, to aid in opening up the library for bigger events (C.J. Box, famous Wyoming author, I’m looking at you), we decided to buy mobile shelving. That will mean we have the option for moving the shelves out of the way for more seating when we need it. C’mon, C.J. Box, Ten Sleep is kinda in your novels, plus two! IYKYK.
Last week, I worked at removing all the picture books from the old shelving…
And putting it on the new shelving. The cool thing? These shelves are a bit taller, so all the books can stand upright. It’s like getting new books because you can see them easier! I didn’t rearrange even though we now have more space. We will do that when they’re in their place… and various sections can find more room.
I don’t think there is anything more expensive than library shelving, so kudos to the Washakie County Library Foundation for covering the amount balance our $10,000 didn’t cover.
