Ugh. Preg Test OOPE and exhaustion

Posted on September 4, 2009January 3, 2015
This day has a reputation of being one of the longest, loudest, and most frustrating days of the year.

It is the day we pregnancy test our cows and yearling heifers.
This year went remarkably well…
but I’m still…
sore from being on my feet…
deaf from listening to the generator for the vet’s hydraulic squeeze chute…
tired from playing Suzy Homemaker and trying to cook a good lunch and snacks…
aromatic from the amount of cowpoop that routinely gets splattered all over you as the cows enter and exit the chute…
or is it aromatic from the 85 degree heat ON TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN and working all day????
rosy pink from my sunscreen wearing off about 2 pm…
fat from good food…
*honestly, how do you choose between brownies and peach cobbler??? You don’t. You get both.*
ugh.
You catch the drift of the day.
Although I was happy with how my OOPE setup worked yesterday as I rode…
today was a different matter.
75% of my photos today was ground.  dirt.  NOT THE SUBJECT.
OK.
50%.
I don’t think anyone wants to look at Wyoming dirt that much…
For instance…
I wanted to show how well behaved Lucas was…
If I was working the alley… Lucas was on the other side helping push cows up the alley.
If I was giving shots… he worked just the top of the alley.
If I was doing paperwork… he laid under the pickup and watched me…
ugh1
There he is under the pickup as I dig out cold drinks for everyone out of the cooler.  Too bad half of the photo is ground.
ugh2
I liked this one although it is taken into sunshine… Victoria, Vernon, and Johnny are looking at a cow’s teeth to see if she should be kept or sold…  Cows usually start losing teeth at age 10 or so…
ugh3
This one is my FAVE… Johnny is always a good subject!
Sorry more really didn’t turn out well…
but I DID take video…
I’ll look at it tomorrow to see what I did…
Now I’m headed to the shower before the scent starts wafting through the computer and crashes the internet!
