Yellowstone Steam

Posted on October 8, 2018

I mean, really… you HAVE to check out the steam in Yellowstone whether it’s from geysers, fumaroles, or vents.  We didn’t go to the most famous… Old Faithful gets all the publicity, but we’ve “been there/done that”, and we wanted to take the time to see the lesser known attractions. One More Trip

Posted on October 7, 2018

Taking a little break from Yellowstone… with winter storm warnings appearing all over Wyoming, it was time to bring the cows off of our high mountain pasture. Yes, a little bit of winter had hit the day before, and we were prepared to ride in the freezing cold.  Truth was, it was a bit warmer…

Yellowstone Rocks

Posted on October 6, 2018October 5, 2018

It does.  REALLY. Yellowstone rocks. Yellowstone rocks are fantastic. If you have the slightest interest in geology… Yellowstone is a great destination.  I mean, most of the time you’re wandering over a volcanic caldera measuring 34 x 45 miles.  That’s impressive.  The following is just a small amount of photos of some of the coolest…

#TBT : Romantic Ride Along

Posted on October 5, 2018

This couple are having a romantic ride along.  Can anyone guess what piece of equipment they’re using?  Taken in the field between Daniel and Johnny’s houses.

Yellowstone Trip

Posted on October 3, 2018

We blasted over to Yellowstone for the first time in a looooong time… and strangely enough, when you go… people ask about the animals you saw… NOT if you enjoyed Old Faithful! Here’s our tally: buffalo: tons! elk: nine antelope : none mule deer: one moose: none wolves: none black bear: none grizzly: one The…

Drive By

Posted on October 2, 2018

Yes, Vernon and I actually went to Yellowstone for two days and a night… and I took lots of photos… mostly of poor quality. I’m a big buffalo fan… and most of the pics I took didn’t turn out… oh, yay. This one did. I can tell you more later, but we’re gathering cows again……

Night With Friends

Another evening with Craig and Judy Johnson, whose book, Depth of Winter, debuted at number five on the New York Times best seller list. Good food.  Good times.

#TBT: Breaking a Bronc

Posted on September 28, 2018

The comment is “breaking bronc. Fred driving, Dad (Frank) with switch to keep bronc from lagging” Details in the photo:   The Barn is there, along with the original Joe Henry cabin.  The white clapboard house addition has not been built onto the cabin yet and Johnny’s house is not built either.
