Pysanky Continued
We started with a plain ol’ egg, drew on it, covered what we wanted to remain white with wax.
The next step… what do we want yellow?
Same rule applies here… Everything we want yellow has to be covered now with wax. Now you can see where all the white is going to be…
Easy enough game.
Cover what color the egg is now with wax and then dye it the next color. This aniline dye covers well… so watch out for your tabletops and clothing and hands!
Next color…
Orange! I want some orange on those poppies and some on the rooster!
Green. I want green leaves.
OOOH! ICK! It did not take the green color well at all!
Sigh.
Onward.
Decided on brown for my rooster… an unusual color for me as far as eggs go!
Then red.
Finally black. The egg is covered in wax. Which I’ll melt off for you tomorrow.
(Sorry about the sideways egg… I tried it 4 times, it puts it back like this each time)
Tomorrow, the big reveal!
