On our trips to the canyon, my shadows have come along.
That’s standard protocol for my life…
If ever I’m lost…
Just look for my English Shadows… they’ll be close!
The past few days have been separated between the girls and Lucas since Elsa has come into heat.
Lucas on the first day of our canyon adventure scared me to death when, hackles raised and deep voice booming, went running up the road looking up at the steep rock walls.
This IS mountain lion heaven…
so, yes, my imagination kicked into high gear.
I spotted no lion, however.
(That would have been a funnier sentence if I’d spotted no leopard…!)
Please note the width of the road compared to Lucas…
just another indication of the narrowness of the road!
Lucas is always a fan of cooling off in the creek… even if he doesn’t want to lay completely down in the water.
Getting his chest wet is his air conditioner.
The girls when they come along are a little more active…
Pursuing real and imagined critters, they make bigger circles than Lucas does when he’s alone.
What’s that high amongst the rocks with a halo of white clouds around her?
Why, it’s Dally.
Rock climbing can sure wear a girl out…
Elsa was Wordless Wednesday’s Rock’n Dog yesterday…
This version shows more canyon behind her…
I just love it when she smiles…
She can be so irresistible at times…
Like my favorite rock climbing pose…
It’s like she’s playing “mountain lion” …
pursuing her prey…
using the available grass for camouflage…
Or this water baby photo…
Elsa loves to plow through the water with her nose…
And this is the best photo of it I’ve ever taken.
These photos are just beautiful, and the subjects so very endearing! Don’t you just love the way a dog’s face turns even more irresistibly smoochable when the pup looks down… and the ears tip forward… 🙂 Your photography should be out in the world winning prizes, that’s what I have to say.
