Boy, back in the day… my mother could say…
“What’s going on here?” and my heart would stop!
Who am I kidding…
She STILL makes my heart stop if she asks that and the tone is JUST RIGHT…
That’s what this red tail hawk seems to be saying as he perched over my head.
This is the second summer that red tail hawks have been raised in the cottonwoods around my house.
Last summer it was in the trees in my yard…
Neither of us was very fond of each other by the end of the summer.
I thought it was great until the babies fledged and momma had to encourage them and call to them and nag them ALL DAY LONG BEGINNING AT DAYBREAK.
It’s better now that they are a little farther away…
BACK TO MY STORY.
What’s going on is this…
I made a special trip for you…
Something different besides
cows,
dogs,
Centennials,
and haying!
The problem is …
I was going to play with all of the photos I took for you in Photoshop before I shared them…
and honestly…
I totally forgot all about it today!
Sorry!
I worked up at the Mills place today…
do you VAGUELY remember our house remodeling project?
Well, it is still there.
Still in the same state we left it in before summer arrived.
So, I’m painting and caulking and looking and deciding and mudding cracks…
having a WONDERFUL time…
Then I came home to cook supper and found an email from my friends from New Zealand… who are touring the western U. S.
They would be here in one hour!
EeeeeK!
I put the final touches on my house…
Heated up supper…
Baked a cake…
And they arrived!
So, I have spent time talking and laughing and discussing a variety of subjects…
I’ll save those photos for another time…
But here’s a hint…
When time allows I’ll work on this special project for you…
But for the next few days…
let’s tour around Ten Sleep some…
and tell some stories…
and laugh…
and have a glass of wine!
Cheers!
