If you were observant…
you might have noticed on my twitter update…
that I had taken the weekend off and gone to Casper…
After updating puppy photos on Friday…
and swiftly packing…
I threw my bags in the Durango…
asked Lucas to jump in…
filled up with gas…
and drove off.
Why?
Because my kids want to come home and stay home for Thanksgiving…
Because the cows were where they needed to be…
Because my mother lives only three hours away and I haven’t been there in AGES…
Because…
finally…
I felt I could without (too much) guilt in leaving Vernon here alone…
So…
I spent a simply marvelous weekend with my mother celebrating “Thanksgiving” together.
No cooking.
No cleaning.
No one else.
No worries…
well…
except how many readers I would lose because I couldn’t post!
Friday evening my mom and I attended a craft fair and then the Chris LeDoux Tribute Art Show.
Saturday, we took Lucas to an acupuncture/craniosacral appointment…
yeah…
really.
More on that later…
We also went to Hobby Lobby…
one of my favorite stores.
Then spent the evening NOT at the Chris LeDoux Tribute Rodeo/Concert (since I’m the only big rodeo fan in my family) but at Red Lobster eating myself sick…
We considered that our Thanksgiving dinner.
Sunday was church…
Mexican restaurant for lunch…
Flea market/antique show for the afternoon…
Quiet evening at home…
Monday morning was Sam’s Club and HOME!
Whew.
The puppies are huge!
Elsa and Dally were LEANING into me…
even more than usual!
Lucas was running around happy to be a ranch dog again…
He’s positive a town dog life isn’t for him!
So when my brain quiets down…
and the silence of the land seeps back into my breath…
and I wake not to traffic sounds…
but sunlight and fresh air…
I’ll share once again
of ranchlife
and dogs
and cattle
and mountains…
with you!
