Small Details

Posted on April 12, 2010January 9, 2015

On my hike the other day were many small details that made the walk more enjoyable…

phlox
The tiny white phlox tucked close to the ground…
belemclose
The calcite streaks of the belemnites… oh, how I’d love a rock saw to cut and polish these beauties into… something…
anthill
This ant hill has my favorite earth colors… with a smidge of green to complement the reds… perfect.  I think I’ll try to incorporate this into my bathroom with the fossils…
lizard
In scanning for fossils, I noticed this little guy… still cold and/or unwilling to run, I could take many pics to make sure one was in focus… and yes, the big giant freaky looking finger is mine… just so you can see how tiny he was.
Delight in the small details and enjoy each one…

Carol, Wyoming rancher

Since 2008, I’ve kept this photographic journal of life on our working Wyoming ranch.  I share ranch work, my family, crafts and DIY, my English Shepherds, Bravo and Indy, and a love for this land.  Enjoy this red dirt country!
