Minute Movie – “Ride Along”

Posted on August 14, 2011April 1, 2015

Come with me in the early morning light through sagebrush taller than Panama…

Pick your way through the maze and watch as Dally urges some cattle onwards…
The cows bellow for their calves, and the calves bawl back, a pingpong serenade of “Where are you?” in Bovinese.
Welcome to the Cowboy Life.

This video illustrates why trailing cattle is hard, exhausting work, including for the horse (Panama needs chinks! ;-)) and even on a lovely day. I can’t even imagine riding like this for hours and hours, in great heat or cold rain&wind. I mean, I would love to, but I’d croak. (But hey, what a great way to croak! ;-)) Thanks for another educational and beautiful video. And rub Panama’s neck and mane for me, please!
