I need a favor. The BlogHer community is running their contest for Voice of the Year again. This is a way to promote great bloggers across the country. In 2011 and 2012, I was recognized as one of the Voices of the Year. I even made it into their downloadable book of entries in 2012. Last year, I was not so lucky, but I have hopes for this year!
I’d like to enter again, so… what was your favorite entry and/or photo from January of 2013 to now? What moved you? What made you laugh? What photo made you say, “Gee, I wish I’d taken that one!”?
All their divisions and contest guidelines are here… and if you have time, go for it! Read them, nominate me if you’ve an urge to, or just leave me a note here, and by golly, I’ll go enter the most popular ones myself!
I know which one is my favorite, but it’s a personal one, so let’s see if we come up with the same top entries!
Can’t remember any of my posts? (heaven, forbid!) Simply go to the sidebar on the the right, scroll to the bottom. Under SEARCH is another division entitled ARCHIVES. Go to January of 2013, and start reading! (you’ll have to backtrack to January 1, then follow the “newer post” link from there) Or just scan. Or simply ignore this! I won’t love you any less if you don’t give me an idea! But if you need something to fill that commercial time between Olympic events…
😉
In thanks… Three bald eagles in a tree on my commute home today… the fourth was on the other side of the cottonwood, out of camera angle!

Carol, I loved the blog about Johnny’s dog. So very special and I will vote on this one!!
Love your writings, your photos and your stamina.
I am totally with Pam and Marilyn on “Butcher’s Foothills Elsa”. It touched me so much at the time, and having just re-read it I am again in tears as I just lost my beloved Kelsey, a border collie mix, my constant companion for 15 years who helped me raise my four sons, and has been my anchor thru the loss and changes of the last few years….one of my few remaining pieces of my old life.
The love – and loving – of a dog is a universal thing, understood by any who’ve been fortunate enought to experience it, regardless of where you live, what language you speak, what continent you call home. I think this one is the one to submit!!
Thank you for all your stories once again.
YES!!! This POST about Elsa…..
Hi Carol, I’m sure the story of “Butcher’s Foothills Elsa” is the prize-winner! I also liked “Little Crooked House” 10/15/13 and really got a kick
out of “Heading for the Cows” 1/11/14. Let us know which entry you decide upon. Sure hope you win!!
Hi Carol,
I read your blog first thing every morning! You deserve to win. My favorite for Heart-felt is 2/3/13, So God Made a Farmer. Can you enter for me, please? I will read more after work tonight, while watching the Olympics.
Have a wonderful day.
Hi Carol,
