Wordless Wednesday – “Phuzzard”

Posted on May 21, 2014

Growing up, we always called them phuzzards.  Don’t ask me why.  He is really an imported, non-native species called the ring-necked pheasant!

Grew up in farm country and loved hunting Ringnecks. Had to pluck and clean them myself from the time I was ten. We also trudged through the snow to make sure there was enough feed for them in the winter. Fond memories.

Beautiful bird. A gem of a picture, too.
