Long Way to Go

Posted on November 16, 2014

I love the look of watercolors… but need to be freer in my application of pigment!  I tend to overwork, overthink, and overdetail a lot of my paintings… so I TRIED… and practiced… and, Yeah, still have a long way to go before I qualify as a watercolor artist!

I’ve heard that watercolor as a technique IS pretty tricky to master. As with any new skill – practice practice! I’m with the other readers and say your samples really look very nice.

You are always too critical about yourself. Guess that is normal, but you are really good.

I am also learning a lot about watercolors. They’re so beautiful, but not forgiving! A challenge, but so worth it.

I’ve taken watercolor lessons a couple of times….with not a lot of improvement on my part. Your paintings look good. 🙂

Thanks. I can’t decide if I’m too fast with not enough planning or too slow in applying washes!
