Wednesday saw me headed to Cheyenne for the Wyoming Library Association’s annual conference. This year it was held in conjunction with the Mountain Plains Library Association’s meeting as well.
This year, we were FOUR! What a fun crew to go to a meeting!
First night was an opening reception at Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum… It’s right on the rodeo grounds… probably the closest I’ll ever get to Frontier Days, the Daddy of ‘Em All! We’re always WORKING HARD when Frontier Days rolls around.
While Frontier Days is a rodeo… this museum has a wonderful collection of old buggies and carriages… My favorite? The authentic Overland Trail stagecoach? The old fire engine, milk truck, or library “bookmobile”? What about the governess’ pony trap? Or the four wheel drive Cut Under? Yeah, I’m kinda thinking I need to make a slide show movie about WLA again!!!
Don’t forget the great artwork… the silent and talkie movies… the fun children’s area… and that night… good food and great people!
Soon it was off to bed and the start of a busy day on Thursday. There were workshops and talks and lunch and more workshops and a joint award ceremony. By golly, someone I know received recognition for his Literary Contribution from the MPLA. Great job, Craig!
Next day was more learning… a class on google forms… one on makerspaces at the Laramie Library where middle school students taught the class! Excellent job, kids!
Yeah, I’m not gonna have time to post more photos… gotta get a slide show put together! Another great, interesting, inspirational conference! Way to go, WLA!
Find me here!
It sounds great. Glad to hear you’re having so much fun!

Oh, yes, please do make a video! I’d like to see pictures from the Old West Museum, and anything you found especially inspirational.
That cloud photo is phenomenal! It should end up in your calendar next year!
It sounds like you all had a wonderful few days at the WLA. Always good fun to have days of learning away from work. Look forward to seeing your slide show. The super moon is shining bright tonight over this side of the pond. I will probably miss the eclipse moment when the moon turns red as I plan to be asleep
at 3am!!!!!!
