Saddle Show

Posted on April 24, 2018

Among all the riding we’ve done the past few days… Daniel has been trying out his new saddle!  We’ve always just bought saddles used… or, “off the rack”, you might say… but never custom built!

Daniel has a friend that makes saddles, though, and after riding one for a few days last year, he’s been interested in one for himself.

Thing is… it looks a little weird!   Here he is showing it off to his grandfather!

You’re supposed to ride it BEFORE the seat and skirting is put on, so that, if there’s any bumps or adjustments to be made… you do it now.

The tree is some kind of carbon fiber something or other… not wood.  It’s pretty interesting.

I’ll show it to you again when it’s finished!

Seems like a great investment in one of the most important tools of his trade. How does his horse feel?

It will last him his lifetime and his kids. Dream come true. Can’t wait to see the finished produce.
