Lift Your Spirits

Posted on July 8, 2018July 7, 2018

Today was the official day for the Girl Scout National Center West reunion.  Working for this fantastic national camp was the way I ended up in Ten Sleep.  Seventy former staff and campers gathered at what is now the Nature Conservancy’s Ten Sleep Preserve.  We talked and looked at photos and slides and hiked and took a bus tour and talked and laughed and told stories… and more stories… and maybe a few more stories.

I took video everywhere so I could share it with those who were unable to make it out here to Wyoming.  That will take some editing, but I hope to have it together soon.

Some people have been here for a few days, so every evening lately, I’ve been meeting up with a growing number of women who shared experiences and love for this Girl Scout camp.  We are a varied demographic, full of labels that could break us into assorted groups, but we are held together with a passion for what we did for girls at this camp, as well as what this camp did for us.  Each one of us could tell you multiple stories on how GSNCW changed our lives, and so we met together one more time to celebrate how incredibly lucky we were to have worked in such a high quality environment.

Tomorrow I will work on the video… but I want to give a big salute to those who lifted my spirits today in so many ways.

I appreciate every one of you, and I know how blessed I have been to have you in my life!

(the camp has multiple pictograph sites… this is just a tiny little thing we called The Little Red Man)

I was there as a horse camper summer of 1975, and a wrangler working there for Nate Brown, summer or 1976. Loved every minute of it!

How fantastic that you can meet and celebrate your friendships. Guiding is a wonderful movement and gives girls so many skills needed for our world. And of course, fun along the way.
