What a well built school cabin – no wonder it is still standing. It would be wonderful to restore it for historical tours of the area…so much of our history is just slowly dissolving into the dirt. Would you be interested in some funds to do something like that?
Vernon says we will take the money and think about it! Haha, he was kidding… the cabin actually belongs to Fred D. The back wall is falling down and if anyone is going to repair it, it needs to happen soon. I don’t imagine it will last too awfully long…
Does this structure still exist? It looks well built, and the children look sturdy, too. The writing on the back is priceless. I love reading the names because I recognize them and knew some of them. Thanks, Carol.
good look’n school, must be a nice breeze, the curtains blowing out the window- I also went to a 1 room country school, but ours was down the road from our farm, great way to grow up!!
What a cute little schoolhouse, and how wonderful to have the notes on its history.
