We helped Brandon and Megan brand their little herd tonight, just an hour’s worth of work, but a chance for me to take my first photos of a branding. As usual, I also had the “real” job of branding, so my little camera did a few fast pics before I crammed it in my pocket to pull the hot iron from the fire.
Jaxon, Quinlan, and Lorelei were also on hand to help as best they could. Lorelei’s description of the evening? “I like to help brand calves. And there are cookies.”
I mean, really. Can life be any better? There are COOKIES.

Not crazy about the smell of branding but cookies smell lots better.

never been to a branding, not done in Iowa, but for cookies I’d drive to Wyoming to help!
