That’s all we’ve had this week, tomorrow’s supposed to be rainy with flood watches in effect. That meant more mowing for me, and finishing up the majority of my gardening.
I’m still holding off on transplanting my tomatoes… it froze here just two nights ago, and with the big storm headed our way… well, patience is a virtue.
Vernon as well tried to finish his farming. He’s planting oats in a field below my house, but had a devil of a time since it was slightly muddy. I had the same problem in my garden. It would have been nice to let it dry out one more day, but the choice was plant today, or plant in three or four days. Monday and Tuesday are predicted to be very wet… let’s just hope it kick starts the seeds in the ground.
At least we’re not like the midwest… so many farmers can’t get their crops in the ground AT ALL because they’re so wet or still flooded.

Our sister city, Rochester (NY) is in a state of emergency as in 2016 due to the high waters of Lake Ontario…like Montreal and Quebec. My friends in Rochester live along the lake and have a ‘pond’ now in their back yard with carp flapping. Seems like crazy weather everywhere. Happy gardening. I like your new mower!

got to wondering, do you combine the oats? we did, fed’em to the chickens & sows, some chop for silage or bale like hay, now days, there are few oats raised around here, but I have a small patch in my garden, along with my small patch of winter wheat, still a little farm boy in me! Memorial Day & rain-
kinda like here in Iowa, rain & mow, repeat, but no frost lately, on a road trip last Sat. lots of fields had lakes in’em, some corn is up, but way behind, gonna be a sad year, dad seeded oats with a wagon & end gate seeder, but went over the ground after with a 4 section drag, we called e’m a harrow, ,4 sections, just like Vernon’s !
