Vernon and the boys are trying to hay… despite afternoon rain showers that seem to target each field as it’s cut. The heat wave we’ve had the past week or so does dry the hay fast… so Vernon zooms and makes hay while that sun shines…
Unfortunately, the baler flung a rock into the back window of the tractor and shattered it. Vernon wasn’t hurt, but glass was everywhere. He continued to bale despite the dust and pollen and crud that swirled and entered the cab… Without windows and air conditioning, you can barely stand the heat in the cab of the tractor, so there may have been some heat related influence, too… but he came home hacking and coughing and feeling tough!
Thankfully, he wasn’t out of business too long, the local tractor shop ordered one right in, and Daniel drove to town to pick it up. Installation was relatively easy.
