Another day at Wyoming Library Association conference filled with good vendors, better breakout sessions, and one of the best speakers we’ve had. Maybe I’m prejudiced a little since I’ve known him since… <cough, cough>… oh, excuse me!
Anyway…
I actually would enjoy having a written copy of his speech, so I could reread and digest it some more. My boss described the speech as poetic… and while I understand what she was trying to convey, it’s difficult for me to describe since I’m not the word smith that he is.
I’m speaking of Ron Franscell, author of multiple true crime and fiction books, with the latest, Alice and Gerald, recently released.
Another smidge of fun was added when gathered for his speech, and there we were, four Kelly Walsh High School graduates, three of us also Casper College graduates…
left to right: me, Class of 1977; Chris Van Burgh, Wyoming State Library Database Wizard Extraordinaire, Class of 1974; Ron Franscell, author, Class of 1975; Abby Beaver, President of Wyoming Library Association, Class of 1999!
I enjoyed our time together!
