There was more rain today… but we will take it over the four feet of snow they had in Montana!
We visited my sister, who showed me how her rocket stove worked. Now, I had Brandon help me make this present for her last year, but, in my typical fashion, I gave it to her four months late. Then, with the hot summer, there was no need to use it. Enter forty degrees and rain…

The premise is air is pulled in through the bottom… the angled chute is to add your tiny pieces of fuel. The upright is the chimney. It’s a very efficient way to burn small amounts of fuel. A hot fire can be made with twigs.

I should have made a rack on the chimney to hold a pot more securely. We found that setting a pot directly on top dampened the fire so that it went out the side chute.
I also discovered I should have put the chute on the tall chimney section. I think I confused the two pieces and put the chute on the shorter piece! Ugh.
Go to YouTube and check out all sorts of rocket stoves, heaters, and grills. Some are very fancy with all sorts of add ons.
I have the pieces to make one for myself… but I think I will go for the upgrades!
Find me here!
How cool is this! I’ll check on them, just for fun! (maybe you can figure out a secondary chimney for the pot?
Can I put in my order now?
That’s really neat!
Interesting!
