The cows they brought from the Mesa Pasture had to be sorted today. That put Vernon on the four wheeler and Daniel and Brandon on horseback. Me? I drove my Durango and was told just to make sure they went in the corral! I could handle that!
It was cold. Fourteen degrees when I left the house. I had warm tights, flannel lined jeans, and my Carhartt coveralls on… wool socks, small gloves inside my wool gloves, a cowboy scarf, warm hat… long sleeve t-shirt, sweatshirt, and Carhartt heavy coat. I waddled like a penguin and hoped if I fell, I had enough clothing on me to pad my fall.
The cold and snow does make for pretty photos…

I gotta admit it. I’m glad I wasn’t on horseback!

Daniel sent me this photo. Doesn’t this just say FREEZING COLD WORK to you?
Find me here!
Love, love, love, following your blog. Today’s pic from the back of a horse…wow, although I appreciate ALL your pics!
Thanks so much! That means a great deal!
reports this morning that Saratoga was at -20 and still dropping into the early morning. breathtaking
Yes… and I feel so spoiled when I don’t have to ride!
I feel your shivers. So glad I am a girl! . Stay warm friend!!
No. Being a girl under three bulky layers is BAD. Or should I say coffee is bad? Just the idea of having to undo all that… well, you know where I’m going with this… 😉
A ranchers life is not all romantic. Poor guys. Just think, spring is on it’s way.
Definitely NOT romantic on days like this! I sure hope it warms back up just a tad before spring, though!
Makes me cold just look’n at this, & riding a horse, burrr, Well done cowboys & ladies!!
Thanks!
