My Thing

Posted on December 15, 2019December 15, 2019

I know it seems like a long time since I’ve discussed anything to do with ranch work… but there’s a reason for that.

Right now, the guys are fixing fence… and, yes, you can dig post holes in the winter… or you can pound in t-posts. I see our heifer calving lot has been expanded with t-posts. Nevertheless, fencing in winter… eh, not my thing. The guys are also rotating with our neighbors in chopping ice for the cows in the badlands. I haven’t hitched a ride yet, but may soon! I like to see the badlands in winter. Riding in the pickup… yeah, more my thing.

Last week, the big job was bangs vaccinating our heifers and then sending them to a feedlot over in Worland. Since it was done on Wednesday and Thursday, I didn’t help since I was on duty at the library. I have written about it every other year, though! Kinda my thing… but I took the paying job instead.

I’d like to bring your attention to my new search box. I haven’t had one available for a long time, but it’s there again on the right sidebar at the bottom. If you’d like to find out about bangs vaccinating… type it in… calving season? Prolapse cows? Horses? Wildlife? Crafts? Yup. Easy to find once more! Yay, me! Making small improvements to my site… kinda my thing!

I’ve seen lots of Twelve Days of Christmas giveaways… online through various stores and blogs and Facebook groups. That’s way cool. I admire those craftsmen that can realize that Christmas is coming up (in December? Does that happen every year?) and can actually plan ahead, but I don’t have enough things made for people that expect presents from me… much less, the random public. Obviously, not my thing.

I’m not really sure where I’m going with this blog post. Every once in a while, being random and disorganized evidently is my thing.

I’ll try to get back on track… and finish decorating… and crafting… and cooking… and ranching… ‘cause they’re all kinda my thing.

Making a calendar definitely is my thing… locals let me know if you want one… others here’s the link for an awesome calendar! Those of you that have bought yours, I thank you! If you have time, could you go give me a rating on Lulu?

I’ve been wondering for awhile if you still had the little appie surprise foal, who would now be about two? I forgot his name, but thought he was super cute!

I think rambling thoughts are quite special. You never know where it will lead, which can be an adventure. Sadly our ‘hard drives’ (our brains) get bogged down with information overload and then as my sister says ‘it leaks’. Hence interesting thoughts especially at this time of year. So much going on.

Have been enjoying reading your blog and seeing your lovely pictures, for several years. I visited Ten Sleep, ate in the cafe, drove past your library which was closed on Sunday, back in 2015, when I attended Longmire Days. Have your
2020 calendar hanging on the wall. Thanks for doing such a good job.

Happy Monday! another one in the books, my thoughts often ramble like your visit this morning, I wonder back to the old days & get lost in the past, I really miss those days, so many questions I would like to ask mom & dad now, I’m trying a new treatment for my head pain, Dry Needle Therapy, twice last week & 3 times a week now till the end of the year, seems to be helping, but a long way to go to get back to where I was a year & 1/2 ago, time will tell- see ya all tomorrow!!
