We had a few days of 50 degree weather. Too warm for this time of year. It actually RAINED on Christmas Day, only getting cold enough the next day for a bit of snow. Warmth and rain put a slick surface on everything. The clouds cleared off and brilliant, starry nights plunged the thermometer back down again.
Today, the snow has come and gone… come and gone. It’s the lightest snow possible, much like the puff of a dandelion.
The beauty these storms leave behind can be difficult to see sometimes… especially if you’re tempted to complain about having snow since October. But like they say, you can enjoy winter and have a couple more months left, or you can whine… and still have a couple of more months left!
If you can, enlarge these photos just to see the amazing details.

Wow. These are amazing. We had sun on Christmas Day, but mostly December for Middle England has been damp. Usually over the holidays we see amazing sunrises from our house. Not this year. I think I saw the Morning Star in the East ONCE the whole of December. We’ve escaped snow so far, but two years ago it’s furry arrived March 1, so a while to go yet.
I always loved frost like that. I haven’t seen it up close in a long while. It’s so incredibly intricate!
I’m speechless with this beautiful and intricate display of Mother Nature! Thank you for sharing it.
Same here. Not quit as warm though. 40’s. Love the hoar frost. Not much for snow. Two storms.
50 here this morning at 6:45 am, rained all day yesterday- no snow in the 10 day forecast, amazing pictures!!
So, so gorgeous!!
